(One of) the largest "huh??" moments from the movie that has people confused in TFA is what Vader started that Kylo Ren is trying to finish, since Vader, really didn't start much on his own. He was pretty much Palpatine's slave, not doing much of his own free will. It certainly wasn't concurring the galaxy, because Palpatine started that. But think back to ESB. When Vader is conversing with the Emperor about Luke, Palpatine wants him dead, but Vader manages to convince Palpatine to try to try to bring Luke to the dark side. This becomes his ultimate goal for the rest of the trilogy. Now, fast forward to TFA. Kylo Ren is obsessed with finding Luke, we assume to kill him. But what if it's to convert him to the dark side? When Hux and Ren are conversing, Ren is warned not to let his personal feelings get in the way when retrieving the droid. But his personal feelings could not be to kill Luke, because one of the goals of the entire Frist Order is to exterminate the Jedi. So, it would need to be something else, like maybe turn him??? What do you guys think of this?
